ArmonAir RespiClick

ArmonAir RespiClick is a prescription medication used to prevent difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing caused by asthma. ArmonAir RespiClick is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by decreasing swelling and irritation in the airways to allow for easier breathing.

ArmonAir RespiClick comes in a multi-dose dry powder inhaler. It is given as one oral inhalation twice daily.

Common side effects of fluticasone inhalational include upper airway infection or inflammation, throat irritation, and cough.

ArmonAir RespiClick is a prescription inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medicine for the long-term treatment of asthma in people aged 12 years and older.

• ICS medicines such as fluticasone propionate help to decrease inflammation in the lungs. Inflammation in the lungs can lead to breathing problems.

• ArmonAir RespiClick is not used to relieve sudden breathing problems.

• It is not known if ArmonAir RespiClick is safe and effective in children younger than 12 years of age.

• candidiasis
• cough

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your doctor if you take:

• medications that block a protein in the body (CYPA4) such as some macrolide antibiotics (clarithromycin, telithromycin), some HIV protease inhibitors (indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir), some HCV protease inhibitors (boceprevir, telaprevir), some azole antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, voriconazole), conivaptan (Vaprisol), delavirdine (Rescriptor), and nefazodone (Serzone)

Serious side effects have been reported with ArmonAir RespiClick including:

Fungal infections (thrush) in your mouth and throat. Tell your doctor if you have any redness or white-colored coating in your mouth.

Decreased adrenal function (adrenal insufficiency). Symptoms of decreased adrenal function include tiredness, weakness, nausea and vomiting, and low blood pressure. Decreased adrenal function can lead to death.

Allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Call your doctor and stop ArmonAir RespiClick right away if you have any symptoms such as swelling of the face, throat, and tongue, hives, rash, or breathing problems.

Decreased ability to fight infections. Symptoms of infection may include: fever, pain, aches, chills, feeling tired, nausea and vomiting. Tell your doctor about any signs of infection while you use ArmonAir RespiClick.

Slow growth in children. The growth of children using ArmonAir RespiClick should be checked regularly.

Eye problems including glaucoma and cataracts. Tell your doctor about any vision changes while using ArmonAir RespiClick. Your doctor may tell you to have your eyes checked.

Lower bone mineral density. This may be a problem for people who already have a higher chance of low bone density (osteoporosis).

Medicines can interact with certain foods. In some cases, this may be harmful and your doctor may advise you to avoid certain foods. In the case of ArmonAir RespiClick, there are no specific foods that you must exclude from your diet when receiving this medication.

Before using ArmonAir RespiClick, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions. Especially tell your doctor if you:

• are allergic to ArmonAir RespiClick or any of its ingredients
• are exposed to measles or chickenpox
• have liver problems
• take ritonavir (Norvir)
• take any antifungal medication
• have an immune system problem
• have any type of viral, bacterial, or fungal infection
• have a history of glaucoma or cataracts
• are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
• are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed

Studies in animals have shown a harmful and undesired effect on the unborn baby, yet there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. ArmonAir RespiClick may be given to a pregnant woman if the provider believes that its benefits to the pregnant woman outweigh any possible risks to her unborn baby.

Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. 

It is not known if ArmonAir RespiClick is excreted in human breast milk or if it will harm your nursing baby.

Read the step-by-step instructions that come with this medication before using. ArmonAir RespiClick is for oral inhalation use only. 

**Do not use a spacer or holding chamber with ArmonAir RespiClick**

1. If you will be using a new inhaler for the first time, remove it from the foil wrapper. Look at the dose counter at the back of the inhaler and check that you see the number 60 in the window.
2. Holding the inhaler upright, load the dose by opening the protective cap at the end of the mouthpiece until it clicks. Do not open the cap unless you are ready for your next dose. You will hear a “click” sound when the cap is opened fully. If you do not hear the “click” sound the inhaler may not be activated to give you a dose of medicine. Every time the protective cap is opened, a dose is ready to inhale. You will see the number in the dose counter go down. Do not waste doses by opening the inhaler unless you are inhaling a dose.
3. Breathe out as completely as possible through your mouth. Do not blow or exhale into the inhaler.
4. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and close your lips tightly around the mouthpiece. Breathe in quickly and deeply through your mouth. Do not breath in through your nose. Make sure that your fingers or lips do not block the vent above the mouthpiece.
5. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for 10 seconds or as long as you comfortably can. Do not blow or exhale through the inhaler.
6. Close the cap firmly over the mouthpiece.
7. If you are to inhale 2 puffs, repeat steps 2-6.
8. Rinse your mouth with water after each dose.

 It may take 1 to 2 weeks or longer for ArmonAir RespiClick to work, and it is very important that you use it regularly. Do not stop taking ArmonAir RespiClick, even if you are feeling better, unless your doctor tells you to.

Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully.

The recommended dose range of ArmonAir RespiClick for the treatment of asthma symptoms is 55-232 mcg 2 times daily. The maximum dose is 232 mcg inhaled 2 times daily. 

If you take too much ArmonAir RespiClick, call your healthcare provider or local Poison Control Center, or seek emergency medical attention right away.

Never take the ArmonAir RespiClick inhaler apart.

ArmonAir RespiClick is stored at room temperature and should avoid exposure to extreme heat, cold, or humidity.

Keep ArmonAir RespiClick and all medicines out of the reach of children.
