Conjupri Overview
Conjupri is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure in adults and children age 6 and up. Conjupri belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers, which help relax blood vessels. This makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.
This medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken once a day, with or without food.
Common side effects include swelling of legs or ankles, nausea and stomach pain. Conjupri can also cause dizziness and tiredness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.

Uses of Conjupri
Conjupri is a prescription medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older.
Conjupri can be used by itself or with other high blood pressure medicines.
It is not known if Conjupri is safe and effective in children less than 6 years of age.

Side Effects of Conjupri
Conjupri may cause serious side effects. See "Conjupri Precautions" section.
The most common side effects of Conjupri include:
- swelling of your legs or ankles
- tiredness
- nausea
- stomach pain
- sleepiness
- dizziness
- flushing (hot or warm feeling in your face)
- heart palpitations (very fast heartbeat)

Conjupri Interactions
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your doctor if you take:
- diltiazem (brand names: Cardizem, Dilacor, Taztia XT, Tiazac and others)
- ketoconazole (Nizoral)
- itraconazole (Sporanox)
- ritonavir (Norvir)
- simvastatin

Conjupri Precautions
Conjupri may cause serious side effects, including :
- Low blood pressure (hypotension). Conjupri may cause low blood pressure, especially in people that have a condition called severe aortic stenosis. Tell your healthcare provider if you feel faint or lightheaded.
- Worsening chest pain (angina) or heart attack. Conjupri may cause worsening chest pain or heart attack after starting or increasing your dose, especially in people with a condition called severe obstructive coronary artery disease. If that happens, call your healthcare provider right away or go directly to a hospital emergency room.
Do not take Conjupri if you are allergic to amlodipine or to any of the ingredients in Conjupri.
Conjupri Food Interactions
Medicines can interact with certain foods. In some cases, this may be harmful and your doctor may advise you to avoid certain foods. In the case of Conjupri there are no specific foods that you must exclude from your diet when receiving this medication.

Before taking Conjupri, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:
- have heart problems
- have liver problems
- are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Conjupri can harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you become pregnant during treatment with Conjupri.
- are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Conjupri can pass into your breast milk. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby during treatment with Conjupri.
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Conjupri and Pregnancy
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Conjupri can harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you become pregnant during treatment with Conjupri.
In animal reproduction studies, there was no evidence of adverse developmental effects when pregnant rats and rabbits were treated with amlodipine (the active ingredient in Conjupri) at very high doses. However litter size was significantly decreased in rats and other problems were observed.
Conjupri and Lactation
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Conjupri can pass into your breast milk.
In some studies with women taking amlodipine (the active ingredient in Conjupri), the medication was found to pass into breast milk, although no adverse effects on the breastfed infant have been observed. There is no available information on the effects of amlodipine on milk production.
Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby during treatment with Conjupri.
Conjupri Usage
- Take Conjupri exactly as your healthcare provider tell you to.
- Conjupri is taken by mouth, once daily.
- Take this medicine at about the same time each day, such as with breakfast or dinner, or at bedtime.
- Conjupri can be taken with or without food.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
- Do not take Conjupri if it has been more than 12 hours since you missed your last dose. Wait and take the next dose at your regular time. Never take two doses at one time.
Conjupri Dosage
Take Conjupri exactly as your doctor has prescribed it. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully.
The recommended dose of Conjupri is 2.5 mg once daily, and the maximum dose is 5 mg once daily.
The recommended dose in children ages 6 to 17 years of age is 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg once daily. Doses in excess of 2.5 mg daily have not been studied in children.
Conjupri Overdose
- If you take too much Conjupri, contact your local poison control center or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away.
Other Requirements
- Store Conjupri at 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
- Keep Conjupri out of the light.
