Doribax is a prescription medication used to treat serious bacterial infections of the kidney, urinary tract, and stomach. Doribax belongs to a group of drugs called carbapenem antibiotics. These work to kill bacteria by interfering with their ability to make a cell wall.
This medication comes in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional. It is usually given every 8 hours for 5-14 days, depending on the type of infection.
