Gas-X with Maalox is an over the counter medication used to relieve symptoms of acid indigestion, heartburn, bloating, and gas. It is a single product containing 2 ingredients: simethicone and calcium carbonate. Simethicone belongs to a group of drugs called antiflatulents. Antiflatulents work by breaking up gas bubbles in the stomach and making them easier to be burped before entering the intestines. Calcium carbonate belongs to a group of drugs call antacids. Antacids work by neutralizing the acid in the stomach and help reduce symptoms of heartburn. 

This medication comes in a chewable tablet form, and is usually 2-4 times a day as needed.

Common side effects of Gas-X with Maalox include constipation and burping.
