Tucks Hemorrhoidal Overview

Updated:

Tucks hemorrhoidal is an over the counter medication used to temporarily relieve pain, soreness, burning and itching associated with hemorrhoids and other anorectal disorders.

It is a single product containing 3 ingredients: mineral oil, zinc oxide, and pramoxine. Mineral oil and zinc oxide belong to a group of drugs called skin protectants. Pramoxine belongs to a group of drugs called  local anesthetics. Together these help form a temporary protective coating over inflamed tissues to help prevent drying of tissues. It also helps to numb the skin to block the feelings of pain and itching.

This medication comes in an ointment and is applied up to five times a day.

Common side effects of Tucks hemorrhoidal include burning and stinging.
