Biltricide Overview
Biltricide is a prescription medication used to treat infections due to schistosoma, a type of worm that lives in the bloodstream, and liver fluke, a type of worm that lives in or near the liver. Biltricide is in a class of medications called anthelmintics. It works by killing the worms that cause the infections.
This medication comes as a tablet and is usually three times a day for one day (spaced 4-6 hours apart). Swallow tablets with water during a meal. Do not chew Biltricide tablets.
Common side effects of Biltricide include general ill feeling, headache, stomach pain, nausea, and increased temperature. Biltricide can also cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how Biltricide affects you.
