Nubain is a prescription medication used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Nubain belongs to a group of medications called analgesics. These help by blocking substances in the body that cause pain.

This medication is available as an injection to be given directly into a vein (IV), large muscle (IM) or under the skin by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects of Nubain include sweating, nausea, vomiting, and dry mouth. This medication can also cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not try to drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
