Tell the Goblins Not to Gobble All Their Candy

Feed your kids a light meal before they head out trick-or-treating; this will help them resist the urge to binge on candy. Although it’s one more thing to carry, bringing a water bottle along will help the kids stay hydrated as they go door-to-door. Additionally, it is important to eat a light meal before going trick-or-treating. A healthy meal rich in fiber and protein can help slow the speed sugar enters the bloodstream and also keeps the stomach feeling full longer — possibly leading to a smaller candy binge. Besides physical symptoms of too much candy, such as stomach pain, too much sugar can also lead to irritability or fatigue. It may also lead to having to go to the bathroom more often — not an easy task while out and about in a costume!
