Simple Tips for Healthy Summer Hair
Sometimes there’s only one cure for a hot summer day: a nice dip in the pool. But this escape can cause major problems for your hair. Chlorine strips hair of its natural oils, making it dry, frizzy and brittle. For the best protection against these damaging effects, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends wetting and conditioning your hair before hopping in the pool. If you spend a lot of time in the pool, you may want to wear a tight-fitting swim cap. After swimming, wash your hair with a swimmer’s shampoo and use a deep conditioner to restore any moisture it may have lost.
